Woking-born Paul Weller (aka The Modfather) first found fame in his youth as the singer/songwriter of pop-punk trio The Jam, scoring number 1 hits with “Going Underground”, “Start!” and “Town Called Malice”. Following the split of The Jam, Weller continued his music career with The Style Council whose hits included “Speak Like A Child”, “Long Hot Summer” and “Shout To The Top”. After The Style Council disbanded, a low key Paul Weller concert heralded his carefully considered new direction; rock/soul. His solo career achieved critical and commercial success in the mid-90s with his albums “Wild Wood” and “Stanley Road”.
